My installation of Scuttle been upgraded to 0.7.1

this upgrade sports new colours :) much brighter.

Evolution, my Email Client, PIM of choice, got Cairo as 2D graphics engine, what might make it beautiful.

My FrogPad has arrived ... time to get used to it

It’s a kind of very entertaining movie.

Appears that LogJam ( software which I’m using to update that livejournal.com ) has more support for Music players, and now it includes mpc what means that I can pull Titles from my nonstop playing Music Player aka laptop aka router aka mail server ... :)

So, this Saturday was kind of OK. In the morning I’ve went to the Mall and bought some food, and DVDs ( The Score - medium , Fight Club - really interesting , KungFu Hustle - really entertaining ) and watched afternoon all of ‘em.
After movies session got something to eat ( some Italian pasta ) and started to play with FontForge, which is really impressive piece of software to design Fonts.
Night was spent on trying to get to know Cairo and Mono ;) at least now I assume that I know how to draw a circle ;). And I can start to work on my concept analog face for Internet Time watch. I always wanted to check it that concept will render useful.

I’ve bought Mungo Jerry - Greatest hits Compilation yesterday. It is really good music :D I love it. Also installed Apache and phpMp2 on my “server,mpd,router” so I can now control music player from my bed with N 770 :)

For a long while I have a lot of ssh connections trying to login with common user names. They all fail as I have secured my ssh quite well, but there is one annoying thing about that failed connections ... logs , they grow like crazy! filled with ssh messages ...

Today I’ve tried some grep on my logs , to count these connections, for present week it makes around 11600 dump entries from 17 hosts... so why not block that hosts.

I’ve wrote some few liner which is run from cron, it checks for new entries in my logs , and if it finds any new hosts, this guys are added to iptables with a -j DROP

I don’t have a problem about blocking any legitimate hosts, I can always wait or just turn around to remove my self from iptables -j DROP :)

So if you are one of that idiots, remember , you have just one bullet for each of your colts ;)

I’ve decided that del.icio.us lack of privacy, which I need for some of my links. I’ve installed my own version of Scuttle, its location. This project supports everything what I might think of, tag ( properly implemented ), RSS, easy to remember URLs, and privacy with 3 different levels. ( public, for subscribers, just for you ), and it allows you to import your del.icio.us bookmarks, what saves a lot of time.

Finally I’ve imported all my photos in to F-Spot. Tagging was the most boring job, but now everything is nicely tagged, so it’s clean, where to find what.

Finally got my Web Mail interface working on my Hula server. My problems appearing because I’m using two different machines to compile hula, and to run it. I’m compiling with the latest libs and so on , while running on much stripped distro ...

Different version, but without fancy shadow graphics, will have to search for ancient backups, while in Poland, to recover that piece of my history :)
